The Arts Centre is about to begin an evaluation of Dig Deep, one of the Arts Centre’s programs for young people that gives young emerging artists from many different backgrounds and cultures the chance to be mentored by experienced hip-hop artists.
The Arts Centre wants to know how the Dig Deep program is going. Do participants enjoy the program? Is the program helping their musical and performing skills? Are they learning other new skills and building confidence from the program? Are they now more likely to visit the Arts Centre?
We will be asking everyone who attends a Dig Deep session over the next 6 months if they want to participate in the evaluation. Participation is voluntary and people can still come along if they don’t want to be involved.
Dan West who runs the program will work with a professional evaluator who will carry out the evaluation. It will involve interview surveys, group discussions online blogs & video diaries. It will be a chance for participants to tell us more about themselves and what they think about the project and about the Arts Centre more generally.
We will use the results of the evaluation to help us improve the program. The evaluator will write a report and we will share what we have learnt about the program with other people and organisations who are interested in the program. We will also use the results to report back to the organisations and donors who support our work.
